HAVE FUN!

A year ago today I was taking the kids to visit the newly arrived Discovery Space Shuttle.  The whole experience was pretty awesome.  I was really bummed that we missed seeing it fly in the air, but I was able to take the kids out to Dulles Airport and see it sitting on top of the airplane that flew it in.  Brian has a replica shuttle and airplane and he was just absolutely thrilled out of his mind.  Then, after it finally came to rest I packed up the kids and we headed out to the Air and Space Museum, Udvar Hazy Building.  They got to see a bunch of cool aircraft, sit in a little airplane, meet an astronaut that flew on the Discovery.  All amazing little memories that I captured with my lens.  If you are ever in the DC area, I really recommend you come see this museum.  Yes, there is the other Air and Space Museum downtown, but we love the one out at the airport.  They usually have docents on Saturday, special projects for the kids, hands on something - checking the calendar for special events is a must.

so embarrassing when they are about 18 and 16 :)

Finally!  There it is

The astronaut talking to Brian about how toy manufactuers always get one particular part of space shuttles wrong.  Brian was in heaven.  It was pretty neat.
